Building Permit
A building permit is required before any construction, alteration, repair, conversion or demolition of a building or structure, under Presidential Decree 1096 (the National Building Code).

What to bring
- Duly accomplished building permit application formsSigned and sealed by the licensed professionals concerned.
- Proof of ownership of the lotTransfer or Original Certificate of Title, or a tax declaration with a lease or consent of the owner.
- Five sets of plans and specificationsSigned and sealed by the architects and engineers of record.
- Structural design analysis and computations (if applicable)Required where the structure exceeds the limits set by the National Building Code IRR.
- Zoning or locational clearance
- Fire Safety Evaluation Clearance (BFP)Issued by the Bureau of Fire Protection. Captured on the case before the permit is signed.
- Barangay clearance for the construction

If something goes wrong
Complaints may be filed at the Office of the Building Official, or through the city's Public Assistance and Complaints Desk. Under RA 11032 you may also raise the matter with the Anti-Red Tape Authority.
